The 10/10 Portal: Completion, New Beginnings & Walking Through the Sacred Gateway

The 10/10 Portal: Completion, New Beginnings & Walking Through the Sacred Gateway

Today is 10 October — 10/10.

Two tens.

Two cycles.

Two symbolic gateways standing beside one another.

Within modern numerology and spiritual practice, dates containing repeating numbers are sometimes described as portal days—moments that invite us to pause, reflect, set intentions and consciously consider where our journey is taking us.

Does a literal supernatural doorway suddenly appear in the universe because the calendar reads 10/10?

That is something none of us can know with certainty.

But perhaps a portal does not have to appear in the sky for it to have spiritual meaning.

Sometimes the gateway is within us.

Sometimes it appears when we finally recognise that one chapter has reached its ending.

Sometimes it is the moment we decide to forgive.

To begin.

To release.

To become.

To take one courageous step towards the person we know ourselves to be.

And perhaps 10/10 can simply become a sacred invitation to take that step.

The Symbolism of Ten

There is something fascinating about the number 10.

Our ordinary decimal counting system moves through the single digits until we reach nine.

Then something changes.

We arrive at 10.

The first digit returns to 1, accompanied by 0, and another numerical cycle begins.

For this reason, ten lends itself beautifully to symbolism surrounding completion and renewal.

Something has reached its fullness.

Yet something else is already beginning.

Within popular numerological interpretations, 1 is commonly associated with beginnings, initiative, individuality and movement.

0 can be interpreted as potential, wholeness, infinity or the mysterious space from which possibility emerges.

Placed together as 10, they can offer us a beautiful spiritual image:

A beginning emerging from completion.

And on 10/10, we encounter that symbolism twice.

What Is a Spiritual Portal?

The word portal conjures extraordinary images.

Ancient stone gateways.

Doors shimmering with light.

Passages between worlds.

Cosmic openings amongst the stars.

Yet when modern spiritual communities speak about dates such as 10/10 as portals, the idea is generally symbolic or metaphysical rather than something scientifically established.

For some people, these dates feel energetically significant.

Others use them simply as intentional markers for meditation, manifestation, prayer or ritual.

And others may see nothing supernatural in the date at all.

ChristoPaganism gives us room to explore these possibilities without requiring everyone to interpret them identically.

For me, the most beautiful understanding of a portal is simply this:

A threshold between what was and what may yet become.

And thresholds have always been spiritually powerful places.

Sacred Thresholds

Human beings have marked thresholds for thousands of years.

We pass through a church doorway before worship.

We enter a ritual circle.

We cross the threshold of a new home.

A couple may step into a new life together through marriage.

A child becomes an adult.

A person takes a new name.

We leave one career and begin another.

We say goodbye to someone we love.

We discover something about ourselves that changes how we understand our entire life.

These moments divide our stories into before and after.

That is portal energy in a very human sense.

There was the person who approached the doorway.

And there is the person who stepped through.

Christ and Transformation

Christian spirituality is filled with stories of transformation.

People encounter Christ and discover that they cannot simply return unchanged to the life they knew before.

There are wilderness journeys.

Baptisms.

Healings.

Deaths.

Resurrections.

Moments of surrender followed by beginnings.

The Christian path itself is built around perhaps the greatest symbol of transformation in Christianity:

death giving way to resurrection.

Something ends.

Something begins.

Darkness gives way to dawn.

The tomb becomes a threshold.

For a ChristoPagan, the symbolism of 10/10 can therefore sit beautifully beside the Christian understanding that transformation is possible.

We are not condemned to remain forever exactly as we were yesterday.

Paganism and the Liminal Space

Pagan traditions also give great importance to liminal spaces.

A liminal place exists between things.

The shoreline lies between land and sea.

Twilight exists between day and night.

Dawn stands between darkness and daylight.

A crossroads sits between several possible directions.

A doorway exists between one room and another.

These places can feel magickal because they are neither completely one thing nor completely the other.

They are places of possibility.

Perhaps 10/10 can become a temporal crossroads.

We stand for a moment between the chapter behind us and the unwritten pages ahead.

The question becomes:

Which direction shall I choose?

Spring Makes Our 10/10 Different

Here in the Southern Hemisphere, 10/10 arrives during spring.

That makes the symbolism particularly beautiful.

The Earth around us is already demonstrating what beginning again looks like.

Bare branches produce leaves.

Flowers emerge.

Birds build nests.

Warmth returns.

Seeds hidden beneath the Earth push towards sunlight.

The landscape itself seems to say:

Begin again.

Many spiritual resources online are written from a Northern Hemisphere perspective, where October belongs to autumn.

But our ChristoPagan practice can listen to the land upon which we actually live.

Here in Australia, our 10/10 gateway stands amongst blossoming, awakening and renewal.

The Earth is stepping through her own seasonal doorway.

Perhaps we can step with her.

Manifestation and the 10/10 Portal

Portal dates are often associated with manifestation.

But manifestation can easily become misunderstood.

It need not mean sitting beside a candle and expecting the universe to deliver everything we desire.

For me, manifestation becomes much more meaningful when it combines:

Intention + Prayer + Magick + Action.

If you wish to welcome prosperity, set the intention—and examine your practical relationship with money.

If you seek love, open your heart—and consider how you give and receive love.

If you seek healing, pray—and seek appropriate professional care where needed.

If you want a new career, perform your ritual—and send the application.

If you want a kinder world, light the candle—and practise kindness.

Magick can focus our intention.

Prayer can connect that intention with the Divine.

Action carries it into the world.

What Are You Ready to Leave Behind?

Before we rush through a gateway towards something new, perhaps we should look behind us.

Not everything needs to come with us.

Perhaps you are carrying:

Fear.

Shame.

An old expectation.

A belief about yourself that was never truly yours.

Resentment.

A relationship that has completed its season.

A habit that no longer serves you.

A spiritual fear inherited from someone else.

A version of yourself you created merely to survive.

We do not have to hate our past in order to leave part of it behind.

Sometimes we can simply say:

Thank you for bringing me this far.

But you cannot come where I am going.

There is tremendous power in release.

What Are You Ready to Welcome?

Now turn towards the gateway.

What lies beyond it?

Perhaps you seek:

Love.

Peace.

Prosperity.

Confidence.

Authenticity.

Spiritual growth.

Creativity.

Healing.

Community.

Courage.

A deeper relationship with Christ.

A stronger connection with nature.

A renewed magickal practice.

Or perhaps you do not yet know what lies beyond the doorway.

That is all right too.

You do not need to see the entire road before taking the next step.

Sometimes faith means stepping forward while the path is still emerging.

A 10/10 ChristoPagan Gateway Ritual

For this ritual you may wish to gather:

🕯️ Two candles to represent the gateway
✝️ Your ChristoPagan cross or another sacred symbol
💎 A crystal associated personally with new beginnings
🌿 Flowers or herbs representing spring and renewal
📄 Two small pieces of paper
🔮 Your tarot or oracle deck, if desired

Place your two candles apart from one another so that they symbolically create a gateway.

Do not physically walk between burning candles. Keep the candles safely upon your altar and make your crossing elsewhere in the room or imagine it during meditation.

Place your ChristoPagan cross between or behind them.

On the first piece of paper write:

WHAT I RELEASE

Write one thing you are ready to leave behind.

On the second write:

WHAT I WELCOME

Write something you wish to invite into the next chapter of your life.

Light your candles safely.

Take several slow breaths.

Hold the first paper and acknowledge what you are releasing.

You might say:

I honour what has brought me here.

I honour the person I have been.

I release what no longer belongs upon my path.

Place the paper down.

Now hold the second.

Read what you have chosen to welcome.

Then say:

Christ, walk beside me.

Divine Spirit, guide me.

May the wisdom of the ancient paths remind me that every ending contains the possibility of another beginning.

With love, intention and courage, I approach the gateway.

Now stand.

Imagine the two candles becoming enormous pillars of golden light before you.

Between them appears your gateway.

Beyond it is the next chapter.

Take one deliberate step forward, safely away from the candles.

And say:

What has ended, I bless.

What is beginning, I welcome.

I step forward in love.

Amen and blessed be.

Tarot for the 10/10 Gateway

If tarot forms part of your practice, you might finish your ritual with a simple three-card reading.

Ask:

Card One — What am I leaving behind?

Card Two — What am I carrying forward?

Card Three — What am I being invited to explore?

Try not to treat the cards as an unavoidable prediction.

Allow them instead to become mirrors.

Notice which symbols capture your attention.

Notice your emotional response.

Notice which questions arise.

Then take those thoughts back into prayer.

The Portal Within

There is one final thought I want to leave with you this 10/10.

We spend a great deal of time searching for signs.

Angel numbers.

Tarot cards.

Astrology.

Synchronicities.

Dreams.

Messages.

Portals.

And these things can become beautiful parts of spiritual practice.

But perhaps we should never become so busy searching the heavens for a doorway that we overlook the one already standing before us.

Choice.

Every meaningful decision creates a threshold.

The moment you choose love over fear.

The moment you choose authenticity over hiding.

The moment you forgive yourself.

The moment you say yes.

The moment you finally say no.

The moment you begin again.

The moment you decide that your past may explain you without imprisoning you.

These are portals too.

Step Through

So today, beneath the energy and symbolism of 10/10, imagine yourself standing before an ancient gateway.

Behind you lies every road that brought you here.

Every joy.

Every mistake.

Every heartbreak.

Every prayer.

Every version of yourself you needed to become along the way.

Do not despise that person.

Bless them.

They brought you to the doorway.

Ahead lies something unknown.

Perhaps beautiful.

Perhaps challenging.

Almost certainly imperfect.

But new.

Take Christ by the hand.

Feel the Earth beneath your feet.

Carry the wisdom you have gathered.

Leave behind what no longer belongs.

And step through.

The next chapter is waiting.
