There are many paths through this life, many ways of understanding the Divine, and many beautiful ways in which human beings love one another. At the heart of ChristoPaganism, however, lies a wonderfully simple truth:
Love is sacred.
For those within the LGBT+ community, spirituality has not always felt like a safe place. Religious traditions can offer tremendous love, comfort and belonging, yet LGBT+ people have also experienced rejection, judgement and exclusion in the name of faith.
The ChristoPagan path we embrace at Hugs Across The Cosmos seeks something different.
We believe that the Divine does not ask us to extinguish the beautiful colours with which we were created. Rather, we are called to love—to love God, to love one another, to love Creation and to recognise the sacred light within every soul.
✝️ The Greatest Commandment Is Love
When Jesus was asked which commandment was greatest, His answer placed love at the very centre of spiritual life: love of God and love of one's neighbour.
For the ChristoPagan, these are not merely lovely words. They become a way of walking through the world.
If we encounter another person with judgement, cruelty or hatred, have we truly approached them through love?
We believe our spiritual practice should encourage us to become kinder, gentler, more compassionate and more accepting.
That means there is a place at our spiritual table for the gay man and the lesbian woman; for the bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex and questioning person; and for every soul who has ever wondered whether there is room for them within the sacred.
There is room.
🌙 Many Paths Beneath the Same Stars
ChristoPaganism brings together elements of Christian faith and Pagan spirituality. We may pray to Jesus, honour Mary and the angels, celebrate the turning Wheel of the Year, work with tarot, practise magick, light candles beneath the Moon and find the presence of the Divine within the natural world.
There need not be fear in exploring the sacred.
Under the Moon, beneath the stars and amongst the trees, we are reminded that Creation itself is wonderfully diverse. No two flowers bloom precisely alike. No two stars shine in precisely the same fashion.
Why, then, should we expect every human soul to love, live or experience spirituality in precisely the same way?
Perhaps our differences are not mistakes to be corrected, but colours within a far greater cosmic tapestry.

At Hugs Across The Cosmos, we want our LGBT+ friends to know something clearly:
You are welcome in our sacred space.
You do not need to leave part of yourself at the doorway.
Bring your love. Bring your spirituality. Bring your questions. Bring your laughter, your scars, your hopes and your wonderfully individual soul.
Whether you find the Divine through Christ, beneath a full Moon, before an altar, amongst the gum trees, through prayer, tarot, meditation or quiet contemplation, you are welcome to walk beside us.
For our ChristoPagan path is not built upon fear.
It is built upon love.
And perhaps there is a little magick in imagining a world where Christians, Pagans, witches, mystics and people of every colour of the rainbow can meet beneath the same stars and simply say:
Thou art welcome here. Thou art worthy of kindness. Thou art loved.
May we be known not by those whom we exclude, but by the love we freely give.
